GAA Alcohol & Substance Abuse Prevention Conference:

The first GAA Drug & Alcohol Conference took place on Saturday 27th March 2010 with over 180 participants from across the 32 counties.

It also included a series of practical workshops...

  • Raising the Issue: How to talk to people about alcohol/drugs (Eamon O’Kane, NWAF)
  • In the Know: Arranging a Drug/Alcohol Education event in your club. (John Leahy, HSE)
  • Off the ball! - Addressing health & lifestyle issues with players -  (Aileen Tohill, GAA)

The conference was hailed as a great success and demonstrates the GAA's commitment to help reduce the level of alcohol and other drug related harm in Ireland.
