The Beara U-16 footballers defeated their counterparts from Bantry by 3-12 to 2-08 and in doing so retained the Denis Hurley Cup, a trophy in memory of the Glengarriff native who wore the No.1 shirt for Beara, Glengarriff and Bantry. The honour of captaining the Beara team for the day went to Jack Hurley, a nephew of Denis. The team also included other Glengarriff players; Sean O’Leary, Daniel Hartigan, Conor Galvin and Ciaran McElhinney, Daniel Murphy not being involved through injury.
Photos Provided By: Gerard Galvin Congratulations to the Glengarriff players who participated in the Beara Colours, in the County Senior Football Championship against Muskerry in Dunmanway on Monday 5th April; Captain James Horgan, Matthew O’Shea and Shaun O'Sullivan who certainly did the Club proud. Unfortunately the score line did not go the way of Beara on this occasion but they did not lose face as the team is quite young with 10 or 11 of the panel still at under 21. The final score read:- Muskerry {0-10} - Beara {0-06} Photos Provided By: Gerard Galvin |
