Beara Under 12's Play Blitz In Croke Park GAA Activity Day

As part of Croke Park GAA Activity Day's the Beara Under 12 footballers travelled to Dublin to take part in a blitz competition with Kerry club Beaufort along with 2 clubs from Co. Clare; O'Curry's and Liscannor.
The panel of 26 players included 7 players from Glengarriff, Jamie O'Brien, Paidi O'Sullivan, Tadhg McCarthy, Thomas O'Donovan, Fergal O'Sullivan, James Murphy and Tony Harrington. The team was managed by Eugene McCarthy and included helpers from the other clubs in the Beara division. Even though the results were not officially recorded for the record Beara won 2 games and were defeated in 1 with all of the players playing in at least 1 full game.
Glengarriff club-man Jack Hurley had the honour of being included in the panel of referee's and got the chance to officiate in 2 games, surely a first for the club. A large number of parents and club officials travelled for the occasion and included in the group was Gerald and Conor Galvin, Sean Hurley, Joanne McCarthy, Mike O'Brien (Drograne), Robbie O'Donovan and Tony Deasy.
